Classes Offered

(*) Indicates a great class for new students and dancers.

Ballet/Pointe – Ballet requires discipline and hard work and ballet classes at INSPIRE are held to that standard. Our ballet classes provide a solid foundation as a dancer and training in all levels, including pointe. Ballet serves as the foundation for many other styles of dance, and we recommend that every dancer be enrolled in a ballet class. Classes for ages 3 to adult. Pointe is offered for our Advanced dancers who are ready.

*Combo – Ballet/Tap/Tumbling (3-5) – Designed for students ages 3-5, the tap/ballet/tumbling combo classes offers an introduction to tap and ballet dancing. The class is an hour long and consists of 25 minutes of tap and 25 minutes of ballet instruction and 10 minutes of basic gymnastics skills. They will learn the basics of both ballet and tap, as well as develop their gross motor skills, coordination, and self confidence. They will learn a dance that will be performed at recitals at the end of each semester (recital participation is optional).

*Combo – Tap/Jazz (6-8) Designed for our students ages 6-8, the tap/jazz combo class offers an introduction to tap & jazz dancing. They will learn the fundamentals of each genre and develop their gross motor skills, coordination, and musicality. They will learn a dance that will be performed at the recital at the end of each semester (recital participation is optional).

Contemporary – Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet. Our contemporary classes are offered for beginner, intermediate, and advanced dancers.

Creative Dance (2)– Designed and tailored for 2-year-olds, this class will start a dancers’ exploration of music and movement. They will learn the basics of tap and ballet as well as an introduction to jazz, gymnastics, and other forms of dance through fun, creative action songs. This class also helps your little dancer learn to listen and follow directions while making new friends in a fun and positive environment each week. These students will perform one dance in the final showcase in May each year.

*Hip Hop – Hip hop is a very energetic form of dancing. It is unique and allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities. Learn fun moves and routines in our hip hop class to perform at recitals and other scheduled performances. We offer classes for ages 5 to adult.

Jazz  Jazz dancing is a form of dance that shows a dancer’s individual style and originality. Dancers will learn technique, leaps, and turns to incorporate into their dance routines. Our jazz classes provide training from Beginner to Advanced levels in a fun and energetic environment. We offer jazz classes for ages 6-adult.

Lyrical Jazz – Lyrical blends ballet and jazz dance together in a fluid style of expression. Lyrical dance uses movement to express emotions such as love, joy and anger and is usually performed to music with lyrics that provide inspiration for movement and expression. We currently offer an adult Lyrical Jazz class.

Stretch, Tone, Leaps & Turns – As part of the requirements for our company dancers, this class will work on flexibility, control, and extension. Dancers will develop strong skills in kicks, jumps, leaps, and turns. This is a technique focused class that will also explore and strengthen style in jazz choreography.

Tap – Tap is an exciting form of dance in which dancers use their feet like drums to create rhythmic patterns and timely beats. Our beginning tap classes will teach the basic fundamentals of tap dancing. Our intermediate and advanced classes are for those who wish to continue progressing in their tap dancing skills, as well as learn different forms of tap: classical, “hoofer”, and clogging. We offer tap classes for ages 3 to adult.
